Local Walks and Kids Stuff

Nice close walks and activities for the kids.

Walkers and dog lovers are very well catered near our cabins where Thrunton Woods, which is just a few miles up the A697, has a variety of woodland treks:

Crag Top Walk (Follow green markers) 2 miles or about 45 mins

Four Crags Walk (Follow red markers) 10 miles or about 4 hours.

Unfortunately the yellow brick road has fallen into disrepair!

A further drive up the A697 will bring you towards Chillingham Castle (18.6 miles North) which is the home of the famous Chillingham white cattle and a number of ghosts featured in TV’s “Most Haunted”

For the kids (including yourself) why not try Diggerland (45.1 miles South) where you can ride, race and dig with a JCB! or newly opened at Matfen Hall is Go Ape (29.3 miles South West) – Swing and balance through the trees, land in cargo nets and fly down zip wires. Castlemania (12.8 miles East) in Amble has loads of activities for kids.
